At the end of The Jungle Book Shere Khan fights against Mowgli AND Baloo AND several vultures. That's a victory? I say even up the teams. How did King Louie never ride Shere Khan's back while using Kaa as a lasso? What are they, idiots? It was so obvious!

In the book Baloo is this cranky old teacher, and not the free spirit we see in the Disney flick. So I made him look like the stern tutor he is. I like his lips.

Sheila from Dungeons and Dragons

Okay, I'm hoping at least one person remembers the old CBS Dungeons and Dragons cartoon from the '80s. Sheila was the fiesty redhead who played the role of the "thief". The title came with a power... She had a purple cloak that could make her invisible so she could swipe stuff from the bad guys.

I was almost done sketching out my original idea for this week's post when I remembered Sheila, and I knew this was my one chance to have a reason to draw her. She's no Slue-Foot Sue, but I think she's kinda cute.

Penny Gadget was way hot when I was 5. Plus, she's tech savvy, is a good spy, takes good care of her idiot uncle, and can understand what the heck Brain is always growling about. What a woman.

C'mon, you know you've had one. Who's that special two-dimensional lady that captured your interest when you were just a lad? Even if you never had one, just pretend you did. I've been invited to participate in the Toon Club. Thanks guys. It's a honor to hang with such talented people. I hope I can regularly put stuff up. I missed the last topic by a smidge, but I can't miss the opportunity to post useless superheroes. It's like my favorite thing to draw. Something about superheros that serve no purpose is soo funny to me. This is an old one, but it is still a useless superhero. When you fight crime with hand puppets the world is your stage! (It's just tiny-- a little puppet theater.)

GeekMan

I was doing finals last week, trying to cram everything and finish all my projects, thinking there was absolutely no hope, and just when I was about to break a window out of frustration, Geek Man appeared.

"Have no fear," he said in a pinch-nosed voice, "I gan help you with all your final-ish needs." He adjusted his glasses and made the pose you see here. "I know how to build a computer, get a hundred lives in Mario Brothers, and I can beat Super Metroid in under four hours."

I scratched my head and said, "begone, yellow-caped man, I don't need any of that right now, I'm just doing this project and it doesn't even involve computers."

"Well, when you're done, come over and we'll play Smash Brothers. Up, up, and away!" And he broke through the window on his way out.

BLOW MAN

Meet Blow Man... he loves to go to superhero birthday parties and blow out the candles before the birthday boy/girl even gets a chance to. But what makes Blow Man special is his ability to transform into an owl by night and use his hobbit like feet to attach to branches. ( if none of this is coming together for anyone of you..don't worry...Im still trying to figure out what I drew too)

Mr. Invisiblegs

When your only super power is that your legs are invisible, I can't imagine why you would wear boots. Without them he could kick you in the crotch and you would have no idea who did it... unless you realized the guy you were standing next to appeared to be hovering.

That foot that's in the air is from his left leg... it's hard to pull off a convincing gesture when so much of the anatomy is INVISIBLE! Man, he's super!

Turning Tragedy into Triumph! It's SuperScooper

As a young boy, mild-mannered Miles Prestwich, reached for a penny a lady had dropped on the road. As a result of his kind act both hands were run over by a Mack truck leaving them permanently flattened. Everyone felt sorry for Miles. Then one day Miles discovered that his hands gave him an advantage over ordinary mortals and SUPERSCOOPER was born! Now he aims to single-handedly, er, double-handedly clean up the town. He's especially useful during equestrian parades.

And you'll be pleased to know that when he's not fighting filth and corruption he has a great job at the local diner cooking flapjacks. Mmmm, tasty.

This was a fun topic. I couldn't decide on one, so I just drew all of them. I think Caped Cod is my favorite because I'm all about the puns.

This week my wife wanted to come up with the idea. I said "no."

She then pitched "Unnecessary Superheros" and I told her that was a very cool idea. I also told her I was going to take credit for it. Uh... Oh, crap, too late... where's the "backspace"? I'm such an idiot... why can't I stop typing everything I think?! Stop it! What is wrong with you..? I'll tell you what's wrong with you...

Anyway, the topic is "Fish", NO! It's Unnecessary Superheros.

The Cheshire Cat is a Bully

Shane and Joe convinced me to post, even though I missed the deadline. Basically, I think the Cheshire Cat is a bully. Watch the Disney movie... You'll see what I mean.

The White Rabbit

This is how I imagine the White Rabbit's morning started. He was taking his time with breakfast and showering until he realized he'd slept in a few extra hours. I hate those kind of days. His power probably went out while he was asleep.

White Rabbit Club

I was debating whether to post this week since I didn't have time to finish this. I decided I would try putting up just a rough idea and hope everyone would be kind. The idea of this is that after a hard day jumping in and out of rabbit holes that the white rabbits (yes I'm imagining that they do shifts) meet in their gentlemen's club to relax and reminisce. Of course, their club is only about a block down from the Flamingo club.

I have not doubt that, somewhere, in some progressive children's magazine, the follow public service announcement appears next to an ad for Pokemon cards (or whatever's passing for toys nowadays.)

While I'm sure that there are studies that show interesting data about global warming, I highly doubt any of the evidence is conclusive.

Also, Shane cheated. I drew my polar bear first and he changed the date on his post to make it look like I was copying him. Boo, Shane!
