You're kinda disgusting. I love it.
I love deviled eggs and now deviled ladybugs. Great leafiness textures. (some motion on those wings would tip the scales in the good way I think). Nicely done Heather.
Ladybug sunny side up. Yum! I'm glad she's so small or she'd have a hard time filling up on ladybugs. Her leafy dress is too cool. Love the textures!
Delicious. Very nice, Heather... and very weird, which I guess is part of what makes it so nice.

Thanks, guys! And thanks for the tip about the wings, Nathan--I think you're right. I'll play around w/it. (Btw, can anyone tell me how to color a picture in Painter so that the pencil line still shows? I've tried "Gel" layer, which is close to what I want, but it smears the pencil around. Any ideas?)
Make your drawing a Multiply Layer on the top, Painting layer below it. Any "texture" layers you want to add you can either do as a multiply -which will you make your textures darker, overlay and screen layers will make your textures lighter. You can then adjust the opacity to tune them how you like. typically you will put your textures above the paint and below the pencil line. I almost always avoid the gel layer.

I once ate 12 deviled eggs and felt a little sick, I'm thinking 12 deviled ladybugs may be worse, I dunno -are they prepared with worchestershire sauce? Great art.
