Frostina the Arctic Mermaid

In a tragic twist of fate, a young merbaby is abandoned and swept down current to the South Pole. There, she is adopted by a kindly penguin family and raised as one of their own. The only clue to her true heritage is the tiki necklace she wore as a child.

Yeah! I got the mermaid and tiki topics covered, and I got to draw more penguins! Woo hoo! I am back!

Not only did you kill two topics with one drawing, but you did it with amazing grace! I love the story quality of your work Adrian. You're penguins are fun to look at and your Mermaid is gorgeous. That must have been some strong undertoe to take her from Hawaii all the way to the South pole. I love the angle you chose to capture this scene at. Would she have had white hair if she'd grown up in the tropics, or is that a natural consequence of growing up where it's cold?

Brilliant stuff, Adrian. You're the winner for best original mermaid story. (applause) Nice line of action, nice expressions, and it's great how it feels like a moment in time in the movie.

but the cursed tiki ruins her surfing contest and makes the penguins hurt their back in hula class.

I'd have to see more of the movie before I know if I like your story or not. A mermaid with a tiki and penguins? I guess it could work... especially if the penguins are that cute. Which reminds me... what cute penguins. I love the colors in this one... quite lovely, sir.

I love how the color scheme makes you feel how cold it must be there! I also love this mermaid! It is definitly one of my very favorite drawings you've done! I like the fur accents on her clothes! Good job honey! I also love the story. I think I need a print of this one also!
