Huh! I've never read this greek tragedy! The true battle begins now! What genius shapes and colors. True character abounds. And true tears... *sniff!*

Ha. Very nice. I love the whole layout and mythology references. Very cool. I like the design of the girls. Very stylized, and yet still very attractive. I can see why he's crying.

Amazing amount of work- and keeping the bright colours from clashing is a feat of gladitorial dimensions

This is awesome! I love how even the little pink buildings in the background compliment everything else going on. I also love how you have specific guests at the pool party :) So fun to look at!

This makes me want to retire from Toon Club... no one can live up to this. I love the MTV Spring Break feeling I'm getting from the characters in the background. That Cleopatra can dance! I love the guy up to his nose in the water... and the fish fountain... and the blood splatters on the guy in the foreground... and the hot chicks... and the cupid... and so on. This is great, man. As I've said before - I love your style. Incredible piece of artwork here.

Oh yeah, and aside from the girls, my favorite part of this picture is the heart-shaped belly-button on the cupid.

Oh my gosh, that's funny!

The characters all look great, and love that you did so many.

I know he's not allowed to partake, but the least they could do is wash the blood of the other gladiators off.

you know Bryan, I may be the only one who would be interested in your process of creating this style of art...yeah, I'm probably the only one.

Nathan - thanks for the interest! I basically Draw, Scan, & use Illustrator to trace out my drawings with the pen tool. It's just a series of shapes & fills on layers. Sometimes I just use a stroke for lines, sometimes I outline the stroke so it becomes a shape & I can further manipulate it. Sometimes I incorporate a little Photoshop. But I like everything to be vector, so usually I even blur etc. in Illustrator. Joe's been trying to get me to create my own blog, if I do I will go into more detail (if anyone is actually interested) otherwise, that's the gist of it!

Yes please.

I'm interested... doesn't mean I could mimic it if given my whole life to figure out how, but I'd like to know more anyway. Once again - this is the coolest!

Bryan, apparently the vote is unanimatmous (which is when a group of cartoonists collectively agree). Here are a few suggestions for your weekend:

1. make a blog.
2. teach us how to be groovy.

I suspected Illustator, the lines are so clean, but I wondered who'd be masocistic enough to actually creat such amazingly detailed work using Illustrator-- now I know it's you Bryan. Really amazing stuff-- as usual. I love that Neptune has come to the party. Hysterical!

Fabtacular! You went above and beyond on this one, sir! I absolutely love it! King Neptune's just waiting to make his move... on the fish fountain. Hmm.
