Sailors Love Mermaids

As I understand it, the myth of mermaids began when sailors mistook manatees draped in seaweed for beautiful women with flowing hair. Sailors are cool, and manatees are totally hot.

This is hilarious. Even more so than when you showed me last night. I was tired. But this is quite entertaining. I like the colors of the water too.

absolutely delightful. One of your finest pieces. I'm going to save it to my computer, erase your name and add my own and give it to my parents for Christmas...then maybe they'll like me again...I'm so sick of hearing "if only you were as good as Shaaaaaane!"

Welcome to Toon Club, official home of the fat sea-going mammals.

This is incredible, Shane. I love the guy with the puckered lips. Very, very old school Disney-ish. I am impressed. Great feeling of motion and composition with the group.

Nathan, I know what you mean. My family leaves more comments for Shane than they do for me.

Do you remember in Muppet Treasure Island- the "I've got cabin fever!" song and dance sequence. It's like that. The sun bakes you're brain, and all sorts of things look like hotties. Like the other day I was walking across the Sahara and I saw this gorgeous blonde sitting in a shallow hole, being married I kept going, but somehow ended walking in circles and saw that it was a pit full of rattlers. Somehow straw had fallen into the pit-- thus the blonde hair. Go figure. Good thing I'm faithful to my wife or I'd have had to borrow your shovel.

Awesome post Shane! Sorry for the rant.
