The first one they made was Ice Cream Monster, but it was too hard to clean off the Chocolate Syrup (Yes, it's Chocolate Syrup). So they made Cookie monster after that. Personally, I'd take Ice Cream over Cookies any day, but you can understand where the Muppeteers were coming from...

This is really nice, Peter... I didn't know about the ice cream thing. If you ate ice cream at the rate that Cookie Monster eats cookies... ice cream headache. I'm guessing that was part of what changed their minds too. Probably not, though.

It is apparent that you are planning out your pieces more and taking more time on them. This one is both solid as a drawing and clever as a concept. If I could make one observation that I think would help make this stronger: I love the graphic style in your lighting (the hard lines of light and dark color in his fur), but I think the airbrush-bluriness look in the table detracts from the clean look the character has. Again, I really like this one. Also, a method to get a semi-reflection on that table is to duplicate the character and flip him and then drop the opacity so you mostly get the table color with a hint of monster goodness coming through. then you can add nice subtle shadows at the points of contact. Just some of my thoughts.
