I love the imaginary friends... some really nice stuff last week, everyone. I have to pick Joe's as my favorite for the week... because that's some fine story-telling. Way to go, jerk!
Too many awesome entries to choose from-- you guys are all amazingly talented and clever.
But since I MUST choose, I'll have to go with Adrian's Dragicorn. If I didn't already have Stillson to keep up with I'd have to kidnap a fair maiden or princess and lure The Dragicorn away from Adrian and make him my Imaginary Friend. Appealing on so many levels. (Does he have a sister?)
Seriously, how can you guys pick one? These rock! Okay, I'm gonna go with Bryan's Imaginary Backup Band... Probably the one that I would have least likely ever imagined in a million years of the bunch, and a superbly executed stylized rendition.
Excellent week. I love a bunch of stuff. All of them were in the running. I have to say I most enjoyed Adrian's post. 4 sweet friends in one post? How can you beat that? My favorites were Mr. Cheese, and the Dragicorn. I enjoyed them muchly. And, of course, this week was also very revealing and disturbing.
now....there is toon club, and toon club jr. any talk of a "toon club wives"? i mean hey, we may not all be great artists like our counter parts (or sara)....but it might be funny. bad art is almost always funny......;)
Personally, I think that's a great idea. Though I'll never be able to convince my wife to join. She claims she's too busy but I know better, I've seen her sleeping.
If it takes off maybe you can call it "The Bride of Toon Club".
Someone else will have to take that one on. I don't want to find myself trying to keep people posting on the Bride of Toon Club. Most of the posts will probably involve drawings of wives strangling husbands anyway, and I don't think images like that are good for the children.
You know what's funny is my wife tonight asked "Why don't you have a wive's Toon Club?" I laughed, because she hadn't seen these posts. Apparently the wives want to get involved. Who's gonna make the blog?
well...ya'll discuss it with your wives...at risk of sounding nerdy, it could be a "share recipes" blog. i mean, it could be art too - i think that would be fun/funny. but i wonder if participation would jump if it was a "post a recipe" blog? any ideas? i really don't care either way. discuss with your bride.
i wouldn't mind hosting it/setting it up - have wives/significant others had any input? are we focusing on sharing funny art scribbled in church or on the back of grocery lists, or are we focusing on sharing recipes?
ok, give me a few days, i'll get it going, and let adrian know so he can post a news item. any suggestions as to names? i think pictures of babies, etc, was exactly what i was thinking this would be. sounds good.
Toon Club is a weekly topic based cartooning/sketch club. While membership is by invitation only, all visitors are encouraged to leave comments and feedback.

I'm going with Stillson. He's a charmer.

Just to clarify: When I said I was going with Stillson, I didn't mean we were dating.

Mel's blue gator-ish buddy was really slick...and I fear he will bite me in half if I don't vote for him.

Pam... You have convinced me. Would anyone like to host it? I can set it up if not. I think my wife would enjoy it as well.

I think the way to go is as a social gathering as opposed to an art exhibit... Let me know and I'll put the word out on our news column!
For the wives club I think we should focus on coping skills so we're not forced to draw those stranglings blogerts was talkin' about. ;)
Ken's wife
My wife has just offered to post a picture of our baby we're having on Wednesday on the Wive's site. Is that going to be a legal post?
