I have no idea what I'm looking at, but it's quite appealling! Great work! It makes me laugh, great colors, fun design... How he kills the music remains to be seen.
Another great sketch Shane! Love his expression! Reminds me of the High School Football half-time show... only more evil! Tube socks! When was the last time I wore those? 1979? Terrific illustration Shane.
You forgot the trigger. Just kidding. I've never seen a trumpet-gun, so who am I to know what the trigger looks like? I love the alien. He/she kinda reminds me of a cross between a frog and a flea. Maybe it's a flog. Good job not going with the obvious slime coated exoskeleton alien. My alien (if I ever finish it) is slimey, I sheepishly admit. On top of that, I have that "Bye-bye Miss American Pie" song stuck in my head, but I blame the flog, not you.
You make a color layer and an outline layer in Photoshop, then you erase everything from the outline layer except for the outline, and you lock it so only the existing pixels can be colored. That probably doesn't make sense, but it's the best I can explain it. Let me know if you want a better explanation.

I like his Wilt Chamberlan legs with matching Chuck Taylors and tube socks.
The trumpet gun is also very cool.
Something funny here... and, out.

I like this dude. Like he's from a planet dedicated to John Phillip Sousa. That's kind of a funny idea, actually...
