Rough and Reddy

Rough is an ex-federal marshal waiting for trouble on the noon train, Reddy is his red-haired, Italian mail order bride who has captured his heart.

I also couldn't let this topic get pass me. Especially after two weeks of trying to draw something. I re-watched High Noon and Once Upon a Time in the West again for inspiration. The image feels like a cross between the two. It's like hearing Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling played by an obnoxious harmonica.

I've also realized how dependant I've become on my Wacom. Painting with a mouse is like having had my hands cut of at the wrists.

I can see the "High Noon" influence. Very nice, Chad. I especially like the sizes and shapes you chose for the guy... the little legs and big arms together are great.

Beautifully rendered Chad! The characters are fantastic, and the feel is right out of the Old West, perfect for this topic.

Chad, this is my favorite one from you so far. Nice character design and emotion, and now I'm choking for a drink of water!

Well done, Chad. Your research paid off. I, too, love the proportions you've got going there, as well as the overall feel of it. Sweet!

That's one of the nicests drawings I've seen you do. Good silhouette and a fun idea with the play on the names. I would probaby tweek the hands a bit. I also like the sepia tone which adds that rustic feel.
